We Do Not Have Homosexuals in Iran

I found this clip through Global Voices Kuwait who got it from somewhere else, too! Isn’t the net great?

Mahmud Ahmadinejad,Iranian president, said,in Columbia University,”we do not have homosexuals in Iran like you do in your country.” He brought the house down. Most just laughed, a few boo-ed.

The Columbia University president has taken a lot of criticism for his decision to have Ahmadinejad speak. He stuck to his guns.

You can see the film clip for yourself here: We Do Not have Homosexuals in Iran.

  4. GreY, I don’t know! Maybe they are all “cured?”

Chikapappi – He didn’t intend to be funny, but people were laughing so hard he couldn’t continue.

Skunk – Hilarious is a great word. He WAS hilarious. Even more so because it was unintentional. They gave him enough rope . . .

  5. OH MY DEAR LORD!!! 😀 I can’t stop laughing!

I know 3 Iranian men that are friends of mine in Finland that are defiantly 100% gay! And they did talk so often about the gay communities in Iran! At least I’m happy for them to be free and practice their life freely now in Europe with out the fear of getting killed for it!

  7. […] good on its invitation – and all the more so since it resulted in such gems as Ahmadinejad’s “wishful thinking” comment about gays in Iran, which my aunt has posted as a video link on her […]

  9. If there’s one thing I have learned the hard way living in the Persian Gulf for over 20 years now is how when someone official makes a media statement, it cannot be farther from the truth – flashback to the summer of 1990(July 1990) when Q8ey officials were talking of brotherly relations with Iraq and just how fully capable Kuwait was, back then of defending itself against any foreign aggression.
    Yeah, right!
By that metric, Iran today should be a Mideastern Gay mecca of sorts.

  10. Error – Sometimes people say things a part of them knows is untrue, but they hope if they say it, it will be true. It’s still called lying! 😉

Beautiful Liar – You still live HERE? In the GULF? I can’t imagine. It sounds both very lonely and very dangerous. BTW, small mistake, it’s “eye candy for the mindless spot.”

  11. ” eyecandy for the mindless spot.” Sorry, you’ve completely lost me there.
How do you mean “mindless spot”? Were you meant to say,” eye candy for the mindless sort”?
    🙂
