Kuwait Weirdness

This is such a small thing, but just TOO WEIRD! In the tiny little weather forecast in today’s Kuwait Times, it says that today’s weather will reach a high of 48°C and tonight will reach a low of 32°C. Like Weather Underground says 24°C/14° – that’s very different. It was hot today, but much more like 24° than a summery 48°C (118.4°F.)

More weirdness – isn’t there any warning when a major road is going to close, you know, like GULF ROAD??? I was caught in the quagmire today, trying to get home and not able to get on Gulf Road and seeing all the north-south major roads in total gridlock. What is this??? I never saw a word, not in Arab Times, not in Kuwait Times, not in the blogs – did anyone know this was coming?

  2. Gulf Road is NOT closed every day, Hamad! Yeh, I expect SOME gridlock, but today it went on and on and on!

  3. “Yeh, I expect SOME gridlock, but today it went on and on and on!”

Apparently the boys were fishing for Valentine victims, hence the gridlock.

  7. Yeah my friend told me that it was closed because she was caught in gridlock .. her exact words “I feel like I am on the 405 during rush hour” LOL!
OMG I just came back from the 30 and it was crowded as heck!

  9. Canc3riaN – Kuwait, too, is hotting up very quickly. One weather guy says the last part of February is going to be cold again, but I have a hard time believing it.

But Chirp! They didn’t announce it was going to be closed! Or did they? Did I miss something?? BTW, there is a 405 in Washington State, goes over to Bellevue, and it is total gridlock during rush hour – is that the one your friend was talking about, or one in Minnesota?

Amu – You too? NO! Not WOMEN drivers! Some testosterone-loaded male, I am sure (JK ya’ll, this is in reference to Amu’s post about women drivers)

  11. There is something going on though. Last night, the exits from Al-Istiqlal Road were all blocked by police. The one exit that wasn’t backed up the whole road, it took me about an hour to get from Hawalli to the Sharq…CRAZY. But something is up and I haven’t heard anything about it either.
