Storm Threat

Yesterday, late in the afternoon, the office sent out warnings that another storm is highly possible in near future, yesterday or today, and to be aware. As far as I know (and all I saw of the last one was a lot of cloud-to-cloud lightning) if one is coming, it hasn’t struck yet.

But as the sun rises, I am looking at that dark spot out on the horizon, and looking at the thickening clouds and wondering if there is some instability we can’t see . . .

  1. I do love your sunrise photographs… if I saw this in Texas, there wouldn’t be any storm coming. Maybe not for you either. πŸ™‚

  3. Lofter – this kind of storm – it has a name, the Sarayyat – is violent, unpredictable and because Kuwait has so few – drainage is a big problem. Windows and doors are not water tight and water just gushes inside, forms huge puddles in any low elevation and causes death and destruction in a heartbeat. People on the road face fallen palm trees, billboards, election campaign stands, and very slick streets, laden with months and months of oil drippings. It can be a nightmare. Kind of like the tornados hitting in the US.

Nicole – they are rolling in with determination in my neck of the woods!

  7. Chirp, I can tell! I can tell! You LOVE using that word!

I think WordPress is going a little wonky these days, getting some kinks worked out. I am having trouble uploading and inserting photos, even writing new posts. Sometimes it works. Sometimes . . . .AAAARRRGGGHHH.

So, dearie, what is a “doppler”?? πŸ˜‰

The pictures are amazing… I love how under the clouds the sky starts with orange and then changes into a blue purple color… its beautiful… it doesn’t feel like a storm is coming… it feels very calm… πŸ™‚

  11. Morning, Hamitaf! I can taste the dust in my throat this morning, can’t you? But so far – no lightning, no thunder and no rain torrents.

Nicole – this morning it is just sand!

Mirror Polisher – The sandstorm today is NOTHING compared to the storm last week!
