How Hot is It?

Here is a photo of what it looks like this morning, not quite 7 in the ay-em:

It’s hot. It is so hot that I will need to run to the grocery store any minute now, before it gets too hot. It is so hot, I don’t even sweat, the sweat evaporates right off my body. It is so hot that a crayon left lying on the ground will spontaneously dissolve:

At 0730, it is 97Β°F / 36Β°C.

  2. Ahem! At 7 ay-em?! This is got to be mayhem in Kuwait, and it’s not even May.

  5. The dust blocks some of the sun.

  6. Seriously, I am not having a laugh here but those crayons in the picture appeared to me to be something else altogether : a melted piece of spent Durex perhaps thrown on to the sidewalk. But now I know thanks to the onlooker.

  8. It’s either dust (cooler) but can’t breathe, or heat (hotter) and can’t breathe, Kinan!

BL! That has to be you! You’re in Hong Kong?

Hee hee, onlooker, actually there was a melted green crayon, too.

Nicole! You left so quickly! I’m glad to see you checking in from time to time. Hope all is beautiful in Hungary.

It wasn’t dusty at seven, but it looks increasingly dusty now, Suspic. . . .

Seriously! Seriously? BL, you sound like Grey’s Anatomy now . . .

    3baid . . . that reminds me . . .ice cream sounds good about now . . .

  12. Oh, no, Ansam! I remember once when my husband found a big puddle in his passenger seat and remembered leaving a chocolate bar there the day before. Oh, what a mess. And candles! How did you ever get that cleaned up???

Momcat, I relish a little cool weather about now.

Yousef – that was straight out of the camera, no enhancing, no photoshopping. Must be a combination of the lowness on the horizon, and probably some enhancement from the haze. I focused on the water, which may have made a difference. How are you enjoying your new camera?

  16. LOL at your shaking hands. That has happened to me before, too, along with having trouble focusing in the macro mode, I don’t know why. I want to try one of those new Gorilla tripods, easy to carry along.
