Halloween Sunrise

The sun rose all golden and smokey looking this morning, there are strings of fishing dhows on the horizon and life is sweet:

Thought am not much familiar with the exact customs, it did strike me that the ‘girgayan’ custom followed here, very much resemebles the halloween custom too of kids dressing up and visiting houses in the neighbourhood to collect their share of sweets. Is it so?

Children dress in costume, knock on doors and say “Trick or Treat” and you give them a little candy. If you’re a dentist, you pass out toothbrushes! LLOOLLLL!
