Ansam, you asked if I had any photos of the Doha museum of Islamic Art from another angle. I found this one, but there was sand blowing that day.

Thanks 🙂 Reason I wanted to see an upclose because I wasnt sure if it was really reflecting an image of an Islamic museum and honestly it isnt! I wish they incorporated some Islamic architecture in it.. there are modern meet contemporary designs, you just need to be creative 😦

Ansam, it is a very clever building – when you look at it, you see a veiled woman’s eyes at the very top. Not classical Islamic architecture – although you do see some very stark buildings/houses in Islamic countries – but imaginative and evocative. 🙂 The truth is, I, like you, like some of the more decorative Islamic architecture – domes, minarets, crenellations, and that pinky terra-cotta color. . .

See the Niqab is not real representation of Islam! As a matter of fact women are not allowed to cover their faces when doing the pilgrimage in Mecca! There are modern art meet classical. They only need to be creative.. oh and I love terracotta color SO MUCH hehehehe

I think it is kind of a sophisticated joke-y creation – like his Pyramid at the Louvre in Paris. He is a kind of quirky architect, isn’t he?
