La! La! La! (No! No! No!)

Re: Don’t Trash My Kuwait, NBQ found this adorable video from the Keep Kuwait Clean Campaign – looks like maybe 2003? (update: Oops, no, nbq says the ’80s!) Oh! These children are so cute! This song is so good!

Just in time for the trash-filled holidays coming up! La! La! La!

  1. This is sooooo old! hehe, mid 90s maybe

There was a campaign to keep Kuwait green and clean. They even held a drawing competition with theme about green Kuwait. My school participated in it, I was around 11 or 12… hehe

  2. Wow that is old…

I have this one friend who throws trash out of his car window, I always feel so embarrassed when he does it and I yell at him, but to no avail 😦

  3. hello dear, this is a very old song, back to maybe 80s i remember singing it when i was a child πŸ˜€ though never remember this vedio..

well, when I see someone throwing something on the ground, I don’t speak out, I just get what he threw and put in the trash, so this way they get embarrassed and hopefully won’t do it again.

  4. Yeah intlxpatr, it older than 2003 for sure; before the invasion. ’80s as I said in my comment in your trash post.

Deema, yeah I do that as well when the setting is right. Also those who throw their lit cigarrett buts on the floor and don’t bother to extinguish it; so I stomp it to extinguish it to make a point.

  7. LOL, Kinan, have you noticed that the two senses best at evoking our childhood are scent and sound? When the right Beatles, Rolling Stones or Alice Cooper song comes on, I’m back feeling 20 y/o again! What I totally love is that a lot of music I loved, today’s teens also love, except now it is “retro.” aarrgh!

MC – I have found that yelling only embarrasses people, and then they get defensive. Send him an “I” message – “I am SO uncomfortable when you do that I need to get out of the car and pick it up.” There will be an uncomfortable silence – don’t break it. Let the silence go on until your friend breaks it. That’s why I like the idea of being able to say “This is OUR Kuwait – don’t trash it.”

Deema, I am so happy to see you again! πŸ™‚ You and nbq have found the golden way to help people think differently. Sometimes what we do speaks a lot louder than what we might say.

nbq – I thank you, for me, for the blog (continuation of a theme!) and for all the people watching this who are not commenting, but taking a trip down memory lane, thanks to your extra effort. Thank you, and thank you again. πŸ™‚

Joud – I am happy if it gave your day a lift. I think this is a very cool song. I wonder who wrote it, and who masterminded the Keep Kuwait Green campaign, lo, those many years ago?

Bu Yousef – LLOOLL. Now, teach Noora and Yousef the song, expecially those wagging fingers!

  10. Yousef, LLLOOOLLL, I thought he was getting a complete do-over! I still think so, but your interpretation totally cracks me up.

Weeknds – hope you are taking your child to see the lights of liberation downtown. One building totally SPARKLES!
