Sun in Ultra High Definition

You would never know my Kuwaiti friend is such a nerd. She is beautiful, she is gracious, and she is a lot of fun. She also sends me some of the most wonderful e-mail forwards, great stuff, stuff you can think about and go WOW. She knows I am a nerd, and she loves me anyway. 🙂

Today she sent me a link to Fox News where there is an article with new, ultra high definition series of sun shots – they are purely glorious:

At a second link, you can click on play and listen to the transliterated ‘sound of the sun.’ Give it a try. It is awesome.

  2. Those are spectacular images. I wish they were available as prints – I’d definitely put them up somewhere.

On the subject of nerds – I read a comparison somewhere between Bill Gates (nerd) and Michael Jordan (jock) and Mr Gates comes out WAY ahead. (Apparently the difference between a nerd and a geek is the pocket protector. Not a geek accessory.) lol

  4. Bu Yousef – Naaaahhhh. She doesn’t watch Fox News. She gets – and forwards – fabulous e-mails with interesting information. And . . . you know sometimes you find information in the most amazing places. Every now and then, the tabloids get it right and get it out before any other news source will touch it. You are right; you need to weigh the source, but I read anything – cereal boxes, where products are from, lables, even (gasp) instruction manuals, LOL.

Daisy Mae – Aren’t they? Purely spectacular! That solar flare is so amazingly graceful!

Daggero – Barely! I can barely hear you! Would you type a little louder???

  5. I agree 🙂
But not about instruction manuals. Shampoo bottles are my earliest independent reading memories.

  6. LLLOOOLL, Bu Yousef. Do you know the one most money-making word in the history of advertising?

Repeat. As seen on shampoo bottles. As in “wash hair with (X) shampoo. Repeat. Rinse and condition.”
