Kuwait Blue Sky

Friday, for the first time, the really blue sky was back! There must have been a subtle shift in the wind, as all we have seen all summer has been haze, and at best, a slight lightening of the haze.

My public art for this week:

A Salmiyya power station

A giant sized rosewater bottle on 303 (Look at the sky!)

Last, but not least, I spotted another of those Palm Tree Antennas in front of the old Regency Palace Hotel. I can’t remember seeing it before, so maybe it is new. Where have YOU seen other Palm Tree Antennas?

  3. It is really interesting how people percieve beauty differently,, i guess beautifull is when it is different than one is used to seeing all the time…
So, when for example you see a clear sunny sky you would think it beatifull when i would see it as uninspiring, on the other hand when we get cloudy skies and a bit of rain my heart would be jumping with joy from the awe inspiring view … so you see the sky to me is bland it might need a bit of salt for me to swallow 😛
They say Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,,,,

PS.. this is not a powerstation, it is a voltage converter and you find one in every block in kuwait (not as colorfull as this one though). you see powerstations send electricity to houses on high voltage powerlines and these converters trasform the voltage from thousands of volts to the more usable 220 volts .

  5. AbdulAziz, I hope you get a chance to visit the great Pacific Northwest, where your heart will sing! Chances of finding a cloudy day, even rain, are very good. (he he he he he!) Most of the houses in the PNW are painted some variation of grey – blue grey, green grey, brown grey . . . You will love it! So yes, a clear, blue sky makes MY heart sing! Even better, a clear, haze-less night, when the stars are bright in the inky sky!

Vixenfatale – once you start seeing them, you see them everywhere. Every voltage converter (thank you, AbdulAziz) is different! I wonder who they hired to paint them all?
