One Day, Two Sunrises 11 Feb 2008

I didn’t think we were going to have any kind of photographable sunrise today, and, to my surprise, I got two. It almost looks like two totally different days, but it is just the way the light changed within minutes:

Here is how warm it has become in Kuwait – the Qatteri Cat is not snuggled up next to me at night to absorb every possible ray of emitted heat. 😦

I think the local schools are back from their winter breaks – traffic has once again become frantic and hostile some parts of the day.

  4. Chirp – No kidding! How strange! You must have wondered how I did that? (I didn’t do it!)

    Thanks, Skinny Bumblebee!

Thank you, Amu. Right now I am using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1, which is what I call my purse camera. Most of the time I use another Lumix, the Panasonic DMC FZ50, which shoots fabulous photos under the most amazing conditions. It has a Leica lens which zooms from 35mm – 420mm, and then if you will put up with slightly less resolution, you can boost it with digital. Because we love to shoot wildlife (with cameras) it gives me everything I need – speed, detail, reliability, and great shots under low lighting conditions AND it is lightweight, looks like any old normal camera (no huge lens telegraphing “I can shoot up your nostril!”) and it easily fits in my purse. I had a wonderful Nikon, when I shot film, but once I had my first Lumix, I never looked back. Right now the focus on that camera has broken and I am picking up a new one in a couple months.
