Not New News

Just as the Qatteri Cat monitors traffic in front of our place, I monitor my blog traffic – a lot like Qatteri Cat, sort of lazily, desultory.

Yesterday, I got the most hits – a lot – on MOC bans Porno Film Sites, a post I wrote almost a year ago.

80 hits. That’s a lot for a post almost a year old. Why so much interest? Are there new movements afoot in the Ministry of Communication to ban undesirable content? Are there new technologies available that make that possible?

I knew exactly the kind of photo I wanted to include here, so I googled “saudi censorship image” and found this wonderful blog: Your World Today. I really like his blog.

  1. LooL… maybe they blocked a new porno website and some guys were just looking for an explanation…
I absolutely hate the idea of porn… I think it is degrading for women and MEN… and I don’t understand the pleasure that comes from watching it…

  2. One reason I look through Photography magazines before I buy them.
Was someone bored again or not?
    Grrrr…..

Maybe one day they gonna lock down all blogs, just to be simply on the safe site.

But it’s great to see that they leave all those TV stations up and running….!

  5. Hamitaf – what gets me is that women in those movies do what they do because they are PAID. They don’t do it for free. They do it because they need the money. How sad and how desperate.

Oh Nicole, no, no, don’t even say that! No, no, not the blogs!

Skunk – here is what is funny – it is a Dubai ad group, and it really is an ad for Wonderbra, and the implication is that it is THAT good! The mark is really a part of the ad! LLOOOLLLLL!

Chirp, NO! Art books??? Oh, NO!

  7. What censors don’t understand is that censorship draws attention and gives importance to that which might otherwise be ignored or pass into oblivion.
