Everett Marina Park

This weekend there was an Arts Fest in the Everett Marina Park, drawing people from all over the area, as there were a lot of hands-on demonstrations and artists who encourage people to try developing a new skill. I saw this fabulous sculpture in the Marina Park:

I love it because it looks like a whale, playing in the surf. It is made of like seven different slices of (wood?) (metal) bolted together, so that if you look from one end, all you see is flat slices, but the sculpture seems to move as you move around it. So creative!

  1. it looks like a giant spartan foot to me, with fancy ankles. yknow kuwait should have more pieces like this scattered around to decorate the place. Theres just so many vacant sandlots and dumpsters one can take in.

  3. A Spartan foot! OOOhhhhhh Mrm! Kuwait is fertile ground for more public art, and meanwhile, it will begin cooling and we can go take photos at Mubarakiyya!

Ansam – I don’t like all modern art, but I do love the clean lines of this, and the mind that conceived it, how all the pieces would work together, how it would look from different angles. I can’t do it, but I can admire it!
