  3. Good Morning, 2twentythree3! I am enjoying your very peripatetic blog, too!

    In Kuwait, 10KD per person is a very LOW entry fee. This one includes dinner. Instead of just donating your 10 KD you get dinner and entertainment, teams competing – it includes husbands, which is fun for many of us, and singles, and . . . . well, everyone who wants to participate can put together a team. I really laughed when I read your comment – I think 10KD here is like $10 in the US – people spend it lightly, from what I have observed.

    (When I first got here and had sticker-shock, a Kuwaiti friend explained it to me this way “Intlxpatr, Intlxpatr, just think of KD’s like dollars and you will be fine.”

    I was shocked, but over the three years, that is sort of what happens. If you don’t get used to the prices, you could die of shock every time you go grocery shopping!)

  4. I am still wondering how long it will take me to not always think…”1KD x $3.75 =”. This is usually followed by “Would I pay that much in the states” and then I finally get to “Well I’m not a tourist I’m living here so do I want/need it or not?!”

    Thanks for the info on the Christmas Charity Bazaar. Might show up. I had to leave two lovely dogs in the US so this cause is right up my alley.

  5. LLOOLLL, Nadine! Every now and then I do the calculation – and put something back when I am shocked at the cost and I don’t really need it.

    I think your school needs to field a team in this Quiz Night! Dinner is included!
