She Kept Her Head

From today’s Arab Times:

Police arrest youth, hunt for two in kidnap, rape bid of schoolgirl

KUWAIT CITY: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti youngster and are looking for his two other accomplices who allegedly kidnapped a schoolgirl, drove her to a deserted area and tried to rape her, reports Al-Dar daily.

The girl told police that the youngsters got scared when she screamed for help and drove off; however, she managed to note down the plate number of their vehicle and it led to the arrest of one of them.

God bless this scared, screaming girl – she used her head. The miserable cowards who abducted her and intended to rape her dumped her, and she wrote down their license number! Wooo HOOO on you, girlie!

  2. Smart young woman, BlaSha, and she has her family backing her up. Imagine, having the presence of mind to write down their license number.

I just wish there were a way to get their names out so that when it came time for them to go for brides, the bride’s families would know who was coming – guys who would abduct and rape.

  4. Good for her… I am glad nothing happened to her, well beside the aftermath and shock of the experience itself

  7. Q8Dutchie – I have never heard that – and you know, we just had a Kuwait photo contest here. I take photos all the time – and so does just about everybody else. We don’t take photos of abaya’d women without permission, or palaces or military sites, but as far as I know, people are free to photograph Kuwait.

Ansam – Just being abducted would cause post-traumatic stress for years, I imagine.

niaiQa – I hope people know who they are, and that they are not welcome in good homes in Kuwait.
