Better Watch Out! Traffic ambushes!

Think they will also be watching for mobile phone users? This is from today’s Al Watan

KUWAIT: Kuwait City Traffic Department launched a security campaign on Sunday morning against reckless drivers. Under the leadership of First Lieutenant Khalifa AlـSabah, several ambushes were set on the Second Ring Road where 37 citations were issued for drivers for violating traffic laws. A security source informed Al Watan that several ambushes would be set up in different locations in the area during the next few days to eliminate the phenomenon of irresponsible drivers who threaten other motorists and pedestrians” lives.

  1. I think that’s a really good move. Even after the new law I have noticed that a lot of drivers including my self at times are not using hands free devices.

  2. I think the worst is those who text while they are driving. I was almost run off the road by a texter the other day. There are also traffic stops at 3rd ring right now. Right during rush hour, it really backs up the traffic.

  3. Amu, me too. I try never to use it other than at lights, but . . . every now and then . . .

    Oh no! Q8Dutchie, no! I think people think they are better at texting than they are – I can see them taking their eyes off the road. . . Danger! Danger!

  4. Hope they monitor the 5th ring road .. its has become so dangerous .. specially on Friday evenings..
