Recycle in Kuwait
This just made my heart flutter. Eshda3wa had mentioned I needed to visit Al Ahmadi to see the lights, and she was right. I had so much fun; all of Kuwait should decorate the way Ahmadi decorates – lights everywhere!
But here is what made my heart truly flutter:

Recycle Bins! In Kuwait!
“When they first brought them,” my friend told me, “I thought ‘oh yeah, Kuwait, well maybe it will work for a week or two’ and so we gathered up EVERYTHING in the house and loaded the bins so we could get rid of them, but actually, they have been picking up regularly, right on schedule.”
WOW.
I have heard there is a new recycle company that will pick up for free. Who are they? How do we contact them?
Update June 2011 – two new options listed in the comments section, companies providing recycle services in Kuwait. 🙂

The only free recycling company that I know of is Green Target Company. They only collect papers/books for now but I’ve heard they’re going to expand and collect plastic soon. It’s run by young Kuwaiti guys and I’m so glad I heard about GTC before I threw away all my old uni handouts!
Their number is 94444927:)
There are a few recycling companies in Kuwait (listed below). I’m not sure which one(s) pick up.
KOC’s logo is on the bins pictured above, but I couldn’t find any info on their website. Main e-mail is kocinfo@kockw.com
Green Target Company – http://www.gtc-kuwait.com/online/index.php
Challenge the Era Company – http://www.q8co2.com.
Metal & Recycling Company – http://www.mrc.com.kw
Environment Preservation Industrial Co (EPIC) – http://www.epickw.com
Environment Friends Campaign (EFC) – http://www.efc-kw.com/en/main.php
finally, awareness !! great news !
I really hope this works!
There are recycle bins in Abdullah Alsalem area “Daahya” Co-op since the 90’s near the juice place.
Thank you, Dandoon!
Great info, thank you, Desert Girl!
Abdullah – Yes!
ShoSho – me too!
AMD – Well, I guess you can figure out I don’t live in Abdulla Al Salem 😉 or I would be there recycling!
wont work in kuwait unless you educate them about it
thats annoying 😦
Kharbota – big change happens in little steps. Help us set the example 🙂 We can change the world. Yes, we can. 🙂

This post is a great resource! I’m glad I came across it.
As usual, NQ, it is the readers and commenters who provided most of the information. 🙂 Don’tcha just love the blogging world, and the good information it allows us to pass along? Nice to see you again. 🙂
I just moved to Kuwait and I am so glad that I found this website!
I have somethings I need to recycle and I contacted MRC and they said they will only pick up if the weight is over 1 ton! I recycle daily and wanted a place that is close by to drop the things off or someone who picks up. Can anyone recommend a company for me?
Furthermore, does anyone know if the bins at Abdullah Al Salem actually get recycled?
And does anyone know of a company that recycles tin and metal (soft drink cans and food cans)?
Thank you!
JD, I don’t have the latest information. If I were in Kuwait, I would start with this blog – it is fantastic.
http://www.kuwaitpaperdump.com/
He publishes menus and all kinds of paperwork, so that people don’t need paper copies. He is also very in tune with all kinds of recycling. Good luck. 🙂
did anyone hear about Recyclink_kw company? Does anybody know their contact?
Sorry, Mohammed, I don’t know.
My name is shaker al Essa, I am a manager at MRC, my email is sr.alessa@MRC.com.kW and I would love to start recycling at your home, and your office.
Shaker, I am no longer in Kuwait, and I will leave your contact there for people who are. 🙂 Good luck.

Thank you, Nettco. 🙂
I would really like to know who the company in Ahmadi are. I’m sure they are more professional than The Green Target Company as they never pick up the line and never call back when we leave messages.
