New Study Links Oral Sex to Throat Cancer

Oral sex linked to throat cancer

A virus contracted through oral sex is the cause of some throat cancers, say US scientists.

HPV infection was found to be a much stronger risk factor than tobacco or alcohol use, the Johns Hopkins University study of 300 people found.

    I really had to think long and carefully before I published that. I went ahead because one of the tactics men use on reluctant girlfriends is to tell girls that oral sex isn’t really sex. Helloooooo??? What part of “oral SEX” don’t you understand???? It’s sex.

  10. Oral sex can give you infectious mononucleosis but I fail to understand how kissing can transmit HPV infection when we know that HPV infection is transmitted only through the ano-penile and peno-vaginal routes.

    Are we sure this isn’t a send up ? The BBC is not always known to report facts, you know.
