Doha Gets a Drenching

A wonderful day, a day that started with a downpour, and never cleared up the whole day, with intermittent showers continuing to give the soil the moisture it so desperately needs. I love the thought of Doha getting a good wash with Qatar National Day being celebrated this entire week. πŸ™‚

Some Rainy Day photos from Doha:

For my Kuwait friends – you are WELCOME, see! There is even an Al Kout coffee shop!

  1. These are all wonderful photos. It’s interesting to compare the similarities with Morocco, and yet there are differnces, mainly in colors.

I was surprised at the open-top ferry boat–what if a big wave came and washed all the cars overboard??

  3. LOL, Mary, I could not figure out what you were talking about, the open top ferry boat. No! It’s a spit! It’s where a lot of dhows are docked to the side of me. People drive out on this spit and park to fish, take photos, meet up with friends . . .. it is not a big open ferry boat. πŸ™‚

Glad you are enjoying it, Matt. The weather is so totally different from Oregon. I stream NPR out of Seattle and often feel shivery when I hear about the weather washing in to Washington and Oregon.

  6. Looks like Hong Kong or Singapore! Al Kout Coffee looks like the Hu Tong (narrow street) in Beijing, except the language. Lovely! 3 days, eh?
