Feast of Flowers

Things get a little chaotic in a house with a newborn, so this morning I was giving the many baskets of flowers a critical eye, so that we could get rid of some which were fading.

There was one; I figured I could rescue it by taking out a couple wilted blooms, so I put it on the kitchen counter, but then I was needed to hold the baby.

Next thing I looked, all three cats were having a flower feast. By the time I grabbed the camera, the shyest one had jumped down:

Memo to self: Keep flowers in high, unreachable place.

  1. I’m sure I have read that lilies are poisonous to cats!

  2. Is there such a thing as an unreachable place for a cat? Please tell me so I can use it things I don’t want my cat to get at! LOL!

  3. What is it with cats eating cut flowers?! There’s not a bouquet that comes in the house that isn’t immediately the attention of all 3 felines looking for noms. Yet out in the garden, I’ve never seen them take a nibble.

  4. Dressing – I believe you are right! Fortunately, I took the picture quickly and scatted those cats!

LOL, Momcat, the mantle is crowded with bouquets, so crowded that no cat can jump up there!

Sparkle, the Qatteri cat has overturned more roses than I care to count, but only roses, I don’t know why he is so partial to them! I think he also likes the greens . . . and we do see cats eat grasses in the gardens.

  6. Mathai – they sure do. But, as my sister, Sparkle, says, only flowers from the florist. I have never seen a cat eat a flower growing in the yard.
