Here There and Everywhere

Expat wanderer

OOops! Ops!

The silence tipped him off.

He had just finished referring to his study as “The Command Center.”

The silence continued, then I broke it, quietly asking “and just whom would you be commanding?”

“Ummm. . . err . . . Ops Center! Operations Center!” he corrected himself.

We both laughed.

We’ve been married 37 years. 🙂

  2. Look. I can relate… as a man :).
It’s been a while since I visited… (safat blog aggregator has been down), but I was trying out apps for my iPad including rss reader that integrates with my google reader (haven’t frequented that in a while either) which I had added your blog to back then. If u don’t remember me, I’m the one you described as outblogging you on your own blog ;p

Last I remember u were moving to Qatar? Iirc.

  4. Nbq! I am so glad to see you! Yes, I have checked Safat many times, and it always shows March. I wondered what had happened. I do remember you. You held your position, and defended it mightily. I admire principles held with commitment – and civility. You were a worthy commenter. 🙂 I hope you and your beautiful family are all well.

We moved to Qatar a year ago. Two months ago, AdventureMan ‘retired’ and we moved to Pensacola to be near our son and his family. We still miss Kuwait. 🙂

Little Diamond – Love your laughter!

  5. OMG!!!! Things take a while to change. My hubby’s study is now referred to as the Man Cave (usually when he is trying to get sympathy at how much bigger my studio is). However, I am referred to by my kids as the Command Post when I get into the super organizing, orchestrating mode for getting everything and everyone together. Way to nip that one in the bud–maybe he needs some little army men with tanks and stuff…

  7. Hmmm this reminds me… When we moved into our apartment (2nd floor @ my parent’s) about 7 years ago, there was one room that I had planned to be my home office or ‘den’… 7 years later and aside from a bookshelf for my books, the rest of it is filled with my kids’ toys, my wife’s old college books & stuff, and mostly a storage for our luggage :s.

Having a notebook that I carry around the place with wifi made me not push to get the room lool. And now with an iPad, There’s even less need I guess…

  8. LOL, Nbq! I love it that the room has become a ‘family’ room! And yet . . . one reason we bought our current house was its configuration. I love having a room that is just mine, and my husband loves having a room that is just his – they are next to one another, and we call back and forth and visit back and forth all the time – but we love having a space to call our own.

How wonderful for you to live so close to your parents. 🙂 We are off this morning to take care of our grandson who has a little cold.
