  1. Today is Saturday 27th., Oct the Second day of Eid Al Adha (Sacrifice) , or the Hajj (Pilgrimage) Eid .

It’s named so because every one performing the Hajj must sacrifice a sheep or a cow or a camel or a goat as a ritual following the Prophet Abraham (PBUH) when he attempted to perform the vision he saw in his sleep ordering him to sacrifice his beloved son Ishmael (PBUH) ,but was unable to do that because God prevented the knife from cutting and a great sheep was sent from heaven as a sacrifice instead .

Thank you for your kind wishes and I extend the warmest Greetings to you , AdvenatureMan and your family on this blessed Occasion .

Also today we have the first rain over Kuwait proper , last week it was over the north border area and then into iraq , like you say Ghrrrrrrr .

  2. Oh! WoooHOOOOOO! The first rain on the second day of Eid al Adha! The Lord has blessed you indeed! I can imagine the joy!

When we lived in Tunisia, people still bought the animal, usually a sheep, and early early the morning of the sacrifice, the butchers went from house to house killing the animals humanely. I was truly honored to be included. There was a lot of work to be done for the feast, but there were also a lot of women in the family, my friends. While they cleaned the sheep and washed the guts and entrails so the casings could be used for Merguez, a Tunisian sausage, I was sat in a corner to peel and smash a lot of garlic, bulbs and bulbs of garlic. I guess they knew I probably would be useless at anything else, so they gave me something I could do 🙂

I always loved Eid in Kuwait, seeing all the families out together. I hope your family is well, and happy, and that you are having a great time together.
