A First For AdventureMan
You may think this is ‘just’ a beautiful pecan pie, but it is better than that. This is AdventureMan’s very first pie, ever. He debated even making it for the Great Gathering, because there are so many truly gifted cooks in the family, but in the end, being the courageous soul he is, he tackled it. It looks exactly like the photo of the pie in Southern Living magazine which inspired his effort. I don’t think I have ever seen a more beautiful pecan pie. 🙂 Bravo! Bravo, AdventureMan!

Here There and Everywhere 
OMG-Bravo, AdventureMan! I was just sitting here wondering how I could get a good Southern pecan pie in the Pacific Northwest. At least I can enjoy it vicariously! Would you share the recipe?

Happy Thanksgiving, momcatwa. You can find this recipe at Southern Living’s website, under Food. There’s an article titled ‘Dazzling Thanksgiving Pies.’ There are a number of pecan pie recipes; this one got my attention when I saw the cover of the November Souther Living magazine. It has chocolate (cacoa) in the filling. I followed the recipe exactly except I did not put sea salt on the finished/glazed pie. It also used a frozen pie crust; not ready to tackle pie crusts from scratch. Will find out if it tastes as good as it looks tomorrow… Best regards, Adventureman
Thanks, my mouth is still watering from looking at the picture! Pie crust isn’t hard, I learned how to do it at age 50.
