One Crazy Thing

For months, I have had a stick on my roof. I’ve watched it inch closer and closer to the edge of the roof. Just before Isaias, a part of the stick had gone over the roof. We kept waiting,

As AdventureMan was at that window, closing up the shutters, he called out “Do you want me to knock this stick down now?” and I said “No, let the storm do it.”

The day after the storm, with devastation all around, trees uprooted, telephone poles snapped, logs and boughs all over my yard – the stick was still on my roof.

My son, after he finished chain sawing the boughs into the required 2-foot pieces, knocked it down.
