No Sunrise

No sunrise photo this morning. By the grace of God, I seem to be back on Kuwait time in record time – it can take me up to two weeks.

I also noticed while I was in the US, I never felt fully on Florida time or Seattle time . . . maybe on some weird level my body was maintaining a Kuwaiti clock? I have taken a short afternoon nap most late afternoons, but I can do that sometimes even without jet lag. I’m feeling GOOOOOOOOODD!

If it weren’t for Rome, Season 2/Final Season, which I bought just before I left Seattle, I would probably be going to bed too early, but it is so gorgeous, and so engaging that we stay up watching one more episode than we intend every night. I know many of you have already seen it, and I don’t know how! How do you get these things before they even come out on DVD?

I couldn’t imagine how season 2 could be anywhere near so gripping as season one, but luckily, I was wrong. We are loving season 2, and I know I will be very sorry when this season ends.

  1. I loved Rome. It was really a great show and worth the watch! Sadly they had to end it because of budgeting reasons I heard. Peronally, I and many others usually download these series as they come out because we can’t get access to them any other way.

Today is a great day, it is the weekend!

  2. Weekend? N, I thought the weekend was Thursday – Friday! Soon to be Friday – Saturday? Do you get (gasp!) THREE days off????

Last night we watched Servilia claim justice from Atia, then curse her, and then kill herself, which was an extremely powerful scene. We also watched Pullo “whip” that obnoxious bold slave, and we know this is going to be a disaster. We can hardly wait for each episode, and I am so glad we have the set so we can tatch it again.

    Download? Where? Like iTunes?

  3. “How do you get these things before they even come out on DVD?”

    *laughing*

Malaysia and other South Asian countries provide a direct pipeline of illegally copied DVDs to the Middle East. The next time you are shopping – in the souk, not at the mall – take a look at the covers of the DVDs on offer. Are there some curious spellings? Are the subtitle offerings an array of South Asian languages, rather than Region 1’s English, French and Spanish? Is the movie still being shown in theaters? If so, its probably an illegal copy 🙂

On the other hand, N is right – a wide variety of US shows are available for downloading from iTunes. You can download individual episodes or order a “subscription” for the whole season. For me its great, but you have to watch them on your laptop or find a way to connect your laptop to the television.

  4. Holy smokes. Like you are talking from the movie people where the movies are in a box under the counter or in a back room? And how soon after a series finishes can you get them?
