Grach

Maybe he uses his grach for barking?

If I were looking for a place to live, this ad would have served it’s purpose. It’s got incredible placement, along Gulf Road, and it is clear what it is advertising, and the phone numbers are nice and big, big enough to write down while you wait at the spotlight. (ooops, stoplight.)

Maybe the “grach” was intentional?

And the the flat has three flowers?

It made me smile. It made me pray to have enough time to grab my camera so I could share the grin with you.

Bottom line, if he paid someone to make this sign, he should get some of his money back. On the other hand, it DOES get your attention.

  6. Kinan – It DOES sound like an inviting place, doesn’t it?

Huda – Yeh, I loved it. Glad I could share it.

    N. – If it was intended, it was effective! And a good ad needs to stand apart from all the others, doesn’t it?

B’s Sanctuary – I don’t know, it didn’t annoy me. It made me smile. Guess because you should see my spelling in Arabic! You would probably have a hard time figuring out what I was saying!

LoneRangeress.63 – Cool name! And the question to ask is “did this ad effectively get it’s message across?” and I would say that it did.

  8. 🙂 Yeh, Heartodarkness. And how is your written Arabic???

It makes me smile. I truly envy people I know who are renting from a good local landlord, maybe even living next door. The flat actually sounds promising to me, if I were looking. I bet they are sweet people.

  9. I have to agree with you that a good landlord is a gem – I live above mine and masha Allaah, they’re fantastic. Where else can you learn to make ghawa and enjoy endless makeup lessons and giggles with the rest of the block – and I do mean that – because they’re all inter-related?! The day I met my landlord, I met the entire neighborhood lol

And you know what, if they were ever putting a sign up, I’m sure the english would be just as atrocious lol – and just as sweet.
