Blocked in Iran

I used to get such great comments from Iranian viewers, and now I get no visiters from Iran at all. Fahad told me my blog is banned in Iran. (Should I feel flattered?) You can check to see if your blog is banned in Iran at this website:

  1. Hi intlxpatr. I suppose this is a hoax website. If I check aliqapoo.com, I am not blocked in Iran. If I check aliqapoo.wordpress.com, I am. WordPress, Blogger, all will be “blocked in Iran” just because of the “rogue regime”. The usual propaganda about Iran, I guess.
    Best, Fahad

  2. LOL, I wondered, Fahad. I went back and checked again before I printed this entry, and was still blocked, but I still use WordPress as my host. And I would think Iranian young people are every bit as innovative as young people everywhere, and could get around most blocks.

You say such kind things about Iran, and show such beautiful photos of places in Iran. Blocking you is a big mistake.

    • Not always. I try to get the picture right which might be harsh for the regime as well at times. I haven’t been in Iran for more than 3 years and I am afraid whether I would still be welcome. My many friends have been silenced meanwhile, I get hardly any response when emailing them. Since February 2012, I had 3 visitors (I changed the web address to aliqapoo.com).

  3. Fahad, I have similar concerns for some of my Syrian friends. I wonder if some are still alive, I wonder how some will fare if a new Iran-style regime comes into power. Sometimes transitions can be a . . . . bear.
