Amazing Performance en Point

A friend sent me this u-Tube video. I love dance, and I have never seen anything like THIS! It’s a French broadcast, but you don’t need to understand French to understand how incredible this couple’s performance is.

  1. Wow! I am always amazed and in awe of those who have so much control over the movements of their own bodies–but to have the trust and be so totally in tune with the control someone else has is astounding. this was beautiful!

  2. Amazing video of two extremely dedicated and talented graceful athletes! After being totally mesmerized by their beautiful performance, I then thought to myself: “Hmmmm…no coffee ice cream…no potatoes slathered with butter and sour cream…no chocolate binges…” Well, I totally admire their dedication to sharing beauty with others! Such sacrifices!

  4. I know the guy had something on his back to soften the toe pressures, but I didn’t see anything on his shoulders – or head! That must really put the pressure on, all the weight on those two little points. On the other hand, her bones look like they must be bird bones, there isn’t an ounce of fat on her anywhere.

  9. Oh Kinano, wouldn’t it have been something to see in person?

Whoa, Mrm! Your accent is good enough to detect his BAD accent? I am impressed! I thought he sounded Canadian; I thought he was speaking like Montreal French.

  12. Great discipline and dedication that shows what massive drive fuels them for such daily practice and commitment.

I wonder what goes through their minds during those shows. I think they passed that phase where fear of failure resides them and it becomes sort of a habit.

  13. I think you are right, Touche’, I think they are pretty much on automatic pilot. They have practiced and practiced until they can do it almost without thinking. It takes incredible dedication and training – and perhaps desperation.

I imagine people do it for the same reason people want to be basketball players, football players, actors/actresses – to escape and have a better life. The practice/practice/practice is the price they are willing to pay. That’s my guess.
