Snow on the Mountains

The very first morning I was here, as you might imagine, I was up very early. As the sun rose, I was heading down the hill to my Mom’s and saw, off in the distance, the Olympic Mountains, covered with snow. Totally awesome. It is the first snow of the season, and everyone is talking about it. In spite of all the rain, which washes down into Puget Sound, this area also suffers from occasional droughts. Temperatures are rising, and a good snow pack on the mountains is critical to maintaining a good supply of water through the year. Seeing the first snow on the mountain lifts everyone’s spirits.

  3. Chika – LLLOOOLLLLL – I am taking photos, but scenery in the rain . . . it’s hard. It’s all really grey! Meanwhile, I am loving it.

Huda – I bought two sweaters. I couldn’t help myself. I even love the cold and the rain!

  6. nQ – I’ve heard it DOES get cold in December and January in Arizona – sort of like Kuwait, except that Arizona will occasionally have snow – is that true?

Oh, Chirp, Kuwait is so lovely right now, so temperate! Many a Seattleite would love to have Kuwait weather! The rain can get kind of old, too.

  7. Kuwait gets much colder, then again it depends on which Arizonian city we’re comparing it to. Flagstaff is a popular place for skiing, its way up north though. I’m over in the phoenix area 😦 never gets cold enough
