Jack Frost Nipping
When you think of Thanksgiving in Seattle, you usually think of rainy and stormy. Everyone has a tale to tell about the year the electricity went off just when the turkey was cooking and 22 people were coming for dinner.
This year, however, was picture perfect.
It is COLD (brrrrrrrr, shiver, brrrrrr) Morning and night, you either have to scrape the frost off the windshield, or wait long enough for the car to heat up and melt it off. (Brrrrrrrr, shiver)
It is GREAT sweater weather.
In Seattle, this is what you say “Look at the mountain!” Everyone knows which mountain you are referring to – Mt. Rainier.
Look at the mountain!

Beautiful! I grew up with an oil painting of said Mountain prominently displayed in the “parlor”…don’t know if I ever told you that my father was born in Seattle. Being trained as a forester, he was quite the outdoorsman and had climbed Mt. Rainier several times. Thanks for stirring up a good memory.

My favorite thing to catch a glimpse of on any day it’s not raining. I am always fascinated by the various personalities it shows, depending on the degree of sun and clarity. I find it particularly stunning when the light makes it red. I am loving my new home!
Wooo Hooooooo! Can you see the mountain from your home, Momcat?
Not from the house–trees in the way. But I only need to walk or drive less than half a mile in either of couple of different directions to see it. When I drive into downtown, I come out of treed area and down into the harbor area and there it is! If I turn my head to the left and the weather is good I catch the Olympic Range as well. I have the best of everything–the water and the mountains!
Oh! Oceans and mountains! *orgasmic shudder* The way to a PNW gal’s heart!
