Halal?

Bull Goes on Rampage

A number of citizens and expatriates were frightened after a raging bull escaped from a slaughterhouse and rushed to the streets of Jleeb al-Shayoukh. Meanwhile, passersby reported the matter to the Farwaniya police and the police moved to the spot and shot the bull. The bull was then transferred to the slaughterhouse.

My comment / question: To be halal, doesn’t an animal have to be slaughtered in a certain way, having it’s throat slit while hearing verses of the Qu’ran, without fear?

Isn’t a bull that has been shot on the street like carrion?

How could they transfer this bull to the slaughterhouse? How can this bull be made into meat?

  1. who knows probably the slaughterhouse has the proper ways for disposal of wasted ..uh.. dead animals. if we think where our food comes from we’ll end up losing our appetitie on spot lol

who eats bulls in this country anyway?

  2. Good question? Who eats bulls?

If the bull was dead from the shot, it can’t be eaten but if it still had some life in it and then slaughtered the Islamic way it can be. But who knows what goes on anyway!

  3. Not halal and besides who would eat bull’s meat?

The proper way to slaughter any animal is by giving it some water first then saying ‘bismillah’ meaning in the name of Allah and going ahead with it. It’s important to never sharpen a knife or even show it to the animal before you’re about to slaughter it.

  4. I wondered if maybe they use bulls for pet food or something. I can’t imagine eating bull, either, but I was really confused when they said they were taking him to the slaughterhouse and I was pretty sure he didn’t qualify as halal. But UzF probably has it right – a slaughterhouse would know what to do with the meat, and there may be non-Moslem laborors to whom it could be sold . . .?
