A Heavenly Day in Kuwait
Adventure Man and I spent the whole day together yesterday, a true sabbath day, worship and play, and very little work. I hope you had the same kind of day. The weather is perfect for strolling along the Corniche, the beautiful blue sky was perfect for taking photos, and the haze over Kuwait made it a little bit dreamlike.

The weather was wonderful yesterday and today. I love it when the weather gets cooler.
I was out today buying flowers for my garden and the nurseries were packed with people doing the same.
The place you asked about above is Al-Zumurridah I believe and used for receptions and parties I believe

What are the timings for the Marine Science centre in Fintas and since when is it open to members of the public?
The Aquarium is really soothing. I make a habit of visiting it every once in a while, keeps my mind off life and such π

So the Marine Science Center is in Fintas? I used to live very close by there. I remember Fintas because there used to be an apartment building there with half of it’s side blown off and a couch just dangling from what used to be someone’s living room. Rumor was that the building had been hit by a round from an American ship off the coast during the Liberation. The building was still standing when I left in 94. I’ll never forget that couch. We passed it everyday on the bus home from school (ASK).

Morning, Global Gal, or is it already evening in Korea? I think there is a Marine Science Center in Fintas, but we were at the beautiful Science Center on the Corniche; it has an aquarium so I called it the Marine Science Center but I was probably mistaken.
We also watched a film called the Fires of Kuwait, which showed the utter devastation wreaked by the oil fires when the Iraqis left. People who have never seen it can’t begin to imagine – a sky just covered with a black oily cloud, black oil on everything, ruins, wrecks, it looked post apocalyptic.
If you were to come back now, your mouth would drop. Occasionally, if you are looking, you can still see some bullet damage, but otherwise – you would never know. Occasionally ordnance still explodes in the desert, usually some poor shepherd looses a leg, but the migratory birds are here, and buildings are going up almost overnight – you would not recognize the Kuwait you left.
Chirp – Good morning! Thank you! I have two Lumix cameras, one that has a lens that is an equivalent of a 400mm, and one smaller, maybe 300 mm. They have Leica lenses, making for good sharp photos, most of the time. Sometimes I am shooting too slow without a flast, but most of the time the camera compensates.
