111° and Dust

This is for my Mom. You might think it is a cloudy Pacific Northwest day, Mom, but it is already 95° F. at seven in the morning, and expected to climb to 111° F – which is the lowest expected temperature this week.

The dust evidently keeps the heat down.

  1. send some dust to beirut please! its hot here, too – and humid. If I walk out of the house with my hair wet (a perk of living here:-)!), it just stays wet. Ugh!

  5. The dust is spread by the CIA to cover their flights, its man-made. You can tell by checking sand flakes that fall on you which have tag number originating in Va.

Becareful, wear goggles and stay indoors.

  7. Hi intl’s mom, just an update..it’s 113F right now and 90% of the population are wearing facemasks.

As for me, my bald head got one hell of a tan. My wife wants to set a griddle on it and make me some breakfast.

  8. Typical Kuwaiti weather. One day it’s raining, the other you get sand storms. Unpredictable.

  9. Little Diamond – eeeeeeeewwww! Be glad you DON’T have the dust! Wet hair is a dust magnet! and your hair is beautiful, wet or dry. 🙂

Enigma – *bows* YOU are SO kind. thank you. I thought it was an interesting shot, it LOOKS all sepia-toned, but it is just the way it was, no special effects.

  10. Kinan – it’s gone now! You can come out!

KJ – now our sky is (sort of) clear, too. It was mostly a morning thing.

  11. Purg, be careful, don’t want to blow your cover.

Elijah – please! don’t encourage Purg! And yeh, it was darker and cooler, but I think it’s hotted up since morning!

MiniR – dying laughing. And wear your headgear, it’s brutal out there!

    Mac – TAKE PHOTOS!

  12. Oddly and intriguingly beautiful, Intlxpatr. (From a distance/inside, I’m sure.) Sort of “sun dog”-ish refraction of the sun, with dust vs. ice crystals!

  14. Sparkle – It’s funny how much the desert and the arctic are alike. Honestly! You wait for temperate weather and you spend all the time outside you can while it is nice. When the temperatures get extreme, you run from you car to the building to the home – and you stay inside. Hot and cold – it doesn’t matter much which extreme it is!

Purg – He excuses himself, accuses himself, sweetie. (Qui s’excuse, s’accuse.) Pointy fingers back atcha!
